The Niara Foundation is dedicated to transforming education in rural Namibia through digital empowerment. We believe that every child, regardless of their background, deserves access to quality education and the opportunities it brings.
Our Mission
Our mission is to digitize rural schools across Namibia by providing computer equipment and resources to enhance digital learning. By bridging the digital divide, we aim to equip students with the skills necessary for success in the modern world.
We are committed to bridging the digital divide and ensuring that every child has access to quality education, regardless of their background. By donating computers, tablets, and other technology tools to schools in rural areas, we aim to empower students with the skills they need to succeed in the 21st century.
Transforming Rural Education to Ensure Equal Access and Opportunities for All Students
The Niara Foundation was founded by Ms. Nangosora Ashley Tjipitua, a lawyer and businessperson. Ashley’s mantra in life is that “to whom much is given, much is expected”, she holds the view that if we have been blessed with talents, wealth, knowledge, time and the like, it is expected that we benefit others.
Much to the contradiction of her own name, Nangosora, which literally translates that ‘a good deed never goes unpunished’, Ashley has made it her mission to continuously give back, inspite of the punishment that may follow. She avidly believes that small acts of kindness can lead to great possibilities in the future.
It was with this in mind that she established the Niara Foundation, a charitable organisation intended to serve a purpose higher than the purpose of self.
Ashley is a compassionate visionary on a mission to empower less privileged communities through the gift of digital learning. Through her work, she embodies the spirit of generosity and innovation, dedicated to creating positive change in the lives of others.
Driven by a deep passion for education and equality, Ashley established the Niara Foundation with a simple yet powerful goal, to provide digital tools to rural schools and bridge the digital divide. Through her tireless efforts and unwavering commitment, she is transforming the lives of countless children and communities, opening doors to new opportunities and brighter futures.
As part of its inception project in 2021, the foundation donated a computer lab to the Ovitoto based KJ Kapeua Combined School, the event was officiated by the Hon. Faustina Caley, Deputy Minister of Education, Arts and Culture. It was at this event that Niara was invited and accepted the Ministry’s invitation to join their “Friends of Education” initiative, since then the foundation has continued its educational initiatives and continues to provide digital learning tools to schools across the country, and hopes to continue doing so long into the future.
